After numerous delays in the sentencing date, the defense is granted their motion for a new trial:

"In setting aside the guilty verdict, [Judge Hillary] Strackbein ruled that the witness the state presented as a computer expert, a Norwich police detective, provided 'erroneous' testimony about the classroom computer." (Hartford Courant)

Well... duh. Too bad she didn't comment on her own conduct, or that of State's Attorney David Smith.

There are some reports that the State might not re-prosecute the case, but we'll see how it goes.
