Substitute teacher in Norwich, CT got convicted in January for porn pop-ups appearing on her computer during classes - 4 counts of risking injury to a minor with a max sentence of 40 years!? (Sentencing delayed til later this month)

Been reading up on it the past few days and the more I read, the more I get aggravated at the DA and the prosecution's computer "expert":

Windows 98 computer with no antivirus/antispyware, non-functioning network firewall (the school district lapsed on renewing the license) on a PUBLIC IP ADDRESS no less, and they go after the substitute teacher who had been told to not shut off the computer, tried to physically push away students from seeing the screen, and even went to other faculty in an attempt to get help for stopping the pop-ups...

This, as opposed to yelling at the school district's IT staff to get their network security up to snuff and moving on, grr...

Looks like some real experts are entering the fray pro bono to work on the defense now... assuming for an appeal instead of the sentencing.
